FDA Bacteria: Listeria monocytogenes

Georgia has identified it to be “Listeria monocytogenes,” and the FDA says that it contributes to the condition called “Listeriosis.” It is a disease-causing bacteria that may have symptoms close to food poisonings like headache, fatigue, stomachache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, fever, and diarrhea.

The bacteria is known to be a fast-acting one, and it is usually found in soil, water, and other places that have been contaminated by it.

FDA Investigation on Consumables

Products that are available on the market or grocery stores are usually considered safe and have passed their needed safety tests or other requirements by the health agencies. However, some that have passed may be tested for further findings, and not all are seen immediately.

This has been apparent in different products found in popular stores like Walmart, which has recently been found to have deadly bacteria on its essential oils that have resulted in three deaths already.

On the other hand, several researchers have continuously warned people of their fast food consumption for the top chains in the country, especially as they have shown signs of a plasticizer on their food.

Foods or products that make it out to markets may initially be considered safe, however, it is important to be aware and vigilant with regards to this so as not to suffer further. The FDA’s research and press releases are here to make people aware and safe at all times, despite having it after the product has been released for the public.
